Students will understand the difference between Impromptu vs Extemporaneous Speaking and will produce an impromptu speech and an extemporaneous speech during this unit.
An impromptu speech talking with little or no preparation, talking off the cuff.
An extemporaneous speech is a presentation with a little planning where speaker relies on brief notes or none at all.
Similarities is that both types of speaking are conversational in nature
Impromptu Speaking
Narratives often reveal aspects of identity such as physical, psychological and social development of humans. Students will share a personal story or experience that impacted them in some way.
